LE MERIDIEN KOTA KINABALU UNVEILS ITALIAN RESTAURANT ‘FAVOLA’

Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu is excited to unveil the city’s latest dining destination, Favola Italian Restaurant, which features authentic Italian specialties and signature service.

Calzone Pizza

Located at lobby level beyond the hotel’s Latitude 05 bar, Favola’s distinctive entrance features subtle lights along the entrance steps and solid granite walls, setting to tone for a warm, mysterious private cave-like ambience for guests. The restaurant’s inviting surrounds in rich hues of granite, warm grey, bronze and gold, dark wood tones and mirrors create an inviting feel for intimate, private dining.

Favola Salad
Favola means ‘fable’ in Italian and upon the entrance guests will note an impressive leather-bound Book of Fables. Guests are invited to pen stories of their dining experiences at Favola or read others.

Pear Crumble Tart

Modern Italian cuisine is what Favola presents with an emphasis on flavours from Tuscany. The restaurant focuses on the freshest ingredients, seafood, meats and produces.

Ravioli

The showcase is on premium rustichella pastas, the best quality steaks, freshest seafood and creative desserts. Signature homemade breads such as the Classic Ciabatta, Sundried Tomato Foccaccia, Crispy Olive Bread, and an assortment of Grissini Sticks and Lavosh served in generous portions are baked daily. The food is perfectly paired with a sophisticated collection of over 60 types of Italian and international wines.

Butternut Squash Pumpkin Risotto

Indulge in specialties like the Trio of Salmon appetiser with Norwegian salmon, black olives tapenade, capers berry, flax seed crackers and avocado ice cream; the Favola Salad with baby spinach, endive, fennel, radicchio, semi-dried cherry tomatoes, rye bread, crispy parmesan and pomegranate dressing, the well-loved Mushroom Soup with combination of Porcini and white mushrooms with truffle butter; and pastas such as the Squid Ink Tonnarelli with prawns, scallops, mussels, clams, squid and lobster toasted with olive oil, garlic, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and dry chilies wrapped in foil and baked in the oven; or the Scallop and Leek Ravioli with garlic, tomato sauce, and basil pesto.

Favola Soup - Must Try!
Enjoy a main course of signature Black Angus or Wagyu steaks, rack of lamb; the ambitious Mixed Grill Platter, a serving of lamb chop, chicken fillet, beef tenderloin, sausages, zucchini and sautéed potatoes; or the Veal Ossobucco, a succulent dish of braised veal shank served with saffron risotto and gremolata.

Bresaola Pizza

For dessert, consider the Classic Tiramisu, or White Chocolate Strawberry Panna Cotta with red wine berry compote and capsicum confit; or the Warm Pear Crumble Tart with a serving of Haagen dazs vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sauce.

Mixed Grill Platter
Favola seats 56 guests, with a private room that offers options for small dinner parties and an al fresco balcony that caters to those who love dining outdoors. The restaurant opens from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12.00pm – 2.30pm for lunch and 6.30pm to 10.30pm for dinner.
