Celebrate Harvest Festival with GUINNESS

Kota Kinabalu, 29 May 2014 - Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) celebrates Ka'amatan with a special series of Harvest Nights held across Sabah.

Fans can look out for a fun filled night hosted by Saliparjipun and filled with live cultural dances, a fire dance and music performances by artists such as Linda Hanif, Malvin, Ridah Annie Malanjang. Plus, they can participate in activities such as the Lucky Draw and Wheel of Fortune, while enjoying their favorite brew.


Six (6) outlets across Sabah will also be having special promotions during the celebration period, including Seri Selera Kampung Air, Kota Kinabalu; Restoran Fortuna, Taman Fortuna; Food city, Kolombong; Restoran 126, Penampang; Misompuru Cafe, Tamparuli; and SS2 Prima,Sandakan.

According to GAB, Harvest Nights is organized with the aim to bring together the brand and the local people during this festive season, plus as a way of thanking all their customers for their support.

Food and Bakery Fiesta at Suria Sabah draws record crowds


The first ever Kota Kinabalu Food and Bakery Bake Fiesta (KKFBBF) 2014 was a resounding success, drawing an unexpected crowd of more than 10,000 people during its 2-day run at Suria Sabah Shopping Centre held on 26-27 April 2014.


Managing Director of Eleventh Avenue Marketing, organizer of the KKFBBF 2014, Alfred Allen Ginsos says that the success of the event was thanks to the trust of the participants and the support by the local community and food lovers everywhere.

"Building a food platform event is not an easy task without the teamwork from all the related food and pastry industries players. We are grateful that they have given us a chance to prove our ability and the outcome was this event that has even exceeded our own expectations".

He said that during KKFBBF 2014, not only did the participants receive the crowds and sales but also made a lot of positive networks within the local community in Kota Kinabalu.

Kota Kinabalu City Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir officiated KKFBBF 2014 and expressed his hope that it would become a yearly event in the city.

Publicity for KKFBBF 2014 was covered by the local press as well as media partners FLEW Magazine, Mejarasakk.blogspot.com, Malaysiacuisine.com and Foodiotkk.com.

Allen said the highlight of KKFBBF 2014 was that visitors were given the chance of sampling free food, pastries and drinks offered by various food eateries and new comers to KK city's food and pastry scene.


"We would to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the overwhelming support for this event and we hope to organize an even better event next year," he said.

2nd Sutera Harbour Resort & Winecellars Gourmet Fest 2014

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia: The Opening Night of the 2nd Sutera Harbour Resort & Winecellars Gourmet Fest 2014 was officially launched by YB Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Environment Sabah in a spectacular gastronomic showcase at the Hibiscus Garden, The Pacific Sutera Hotel.


For 6 days, gourmands and wine lovers will experience a culinary adventure of taste and flavors from the kitchen of the three fine dining restaurants in Sutera Harbour Resort. The featured restaurants are Ferdinand's at The Magellan Sutera Resort, Silk Garden at The Pacific Sutera Hotel and Spice Island and Sutera Harbour Marina & Country club.


This year, 3 chefs are especially flown in from outside of Sabah to tantalize your palates with their impressive spread of ate dujour. They are Chef Rene Mathieu, a Michelin Star Chef from Belgium best known for his French and Italian gourmet-styled cooking stationed at Ferdinand's, multi award-winner celebrity Chef Austen Ong from Singapore at Silk Garden as well as Chef Ricky Ng from West Malaysia who is a Nyonya cuisine expert and author of 14 successful cookbooks who will be cooking at Spice Island.



Continuing with the festival's "it's Not Just Culinary, It's A Cultural Experience" tagline where each featured outlet presents an enriching cultural journey through their menus. The highlight of the week will be their themed Host Nights. Ferdinand's theme of an elaborate romantic " Night at The Vineyard' and the special degustation menu by a Michelin Star Chef Rene Mathieu on May 9, promises an unforgettable night. Discover the "Taste of Nyonya' or the Peranakan legacy at Spice Island on May 7, with the spectacular spread of Nyonya flavours, prepared by Masterchef Ricky Ng. While Silk Garden presents a charming "Little Chinatown" experience on May 8, with Singaporean celebrity Chef Austen Ong and his signature Chinese dishes.






This burst of flavours will continue throughout the festival period with exclusive menus at special prices. Apart from the dinners, specially designed cooking classes will also be conducted by the three talented chefs. Learn from these Master Chefs during the cooking class; with Chef Rene Mathieu on May 8, Chef Austen Ong on May 9 and Chef Ricky Ng on May 10.

To end the festive week. and evening of wine sampling called Sunset Wines by Winecellars will be held at the Marina Boardwalk on May 11. The evening's theme will be "Drink for Charity" as the proceed from the entrance fee will be donated to a selected beneficiary. Paying guest get to taste over 400 types of wines while savouring canapes and luxuriate in a breathtaking view of the sunset across the South China Sea.
