Sutera Harbour 7K Charity Run 2019

Here we go again! Sutera Harbour’s 7K Charity Run hit the big 19th year and we are very excited to announce that it is happening on Saturday, 27.7.19 at 17:00hours!

So mark your calendar and run with us. Registration fee is at RM45.00 per adult and RM35.00 per student/child.

Group Offer: Register for 15 persons and above entitled for RM40.00 per person.

All net proceeds from this event will be distributed equally to Sabah Thalassaemia Society and Special Olympics Sabah. Your support and contribution will assist these two beneficiaries to carry out their programmes and activities to assist those in need.

KOTA KINABALU: Sutera Harbour Resort presented a 50-kg Raya cake to Head of State of Sabah His Excellency Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Haji Juhar Bin Datuk Haji Mahiruddin and His consort YABhg Toh Puan Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Hajah Norlidah Binti Tan Sri Datuk R.M. Jasni during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Cake Presentation Ceremony at the State Palace on 28 May 2019. Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gerard Tan led the team for the presentation.

Chef Pritchard Ligadu said it took him and his team of two other chefs a week to create the Chocolate Kondima cake. Carrying a Balik Kampung theme, the beautiful cake showcases Sutera Harbour Resort’s famed vintage locomotive, the North Borneo Railway.

The train was chosen this year because train was and has always been one of the vital means of transportation in Sabah, bringing villagers to towns in the olden days and carrying urbanites for balik kampung during the holidays like the Hari Raya even in this modern age.

“Balik Kampung is synonymous with festive celebrations and the locomotive train is a historical asset not just for Sutera Harbour Resort but also to the people of Sabah. Nothing is important or beautiful than celebrating any event with your family,” he said. Ligadu, 52, who hails from Kampung Tuavon Penampang, one of the renowned elite pastry chefs in Sabah with 33 years of experience in the field.

Malaysia’s first Resort’s auxiliary police graduate • Sutera Harbour Resort

On 29 June 2018, Sutera Harbour Resort became the first resort in Sabah, Malaysia to be granted by the Royal Malaysia Police with an auxiliary police unit.

The first batch of 12 staff has been sent for an intensive training, which includes martial arts, firearms training, physical exercise and learning various aspects

of the laws at the Ulu Kinta General Operations Force Training Centre in Perak.

The unit had a photo taking session with Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gerard Tan at the Lobby of The Magellan Sutera Resort today, 21 May 2019.

Gerard said “Having our own auxiliary police unit will definitely enhance the safety and security of our staff and guests, which are the top of our priorities.”

The auxiliary police unit is not only responsible in ensuring the safety and security of the Resort but also able to exercise the rights to conduct patrols,

preventing crime, as well as detecting and arresting criminals in the vicinity of the Resort. They are there to ensure visitors/tourists have peace of

mind when they venture out to enjoy the sights and sounds at the Resort.

The establishment of this Auxiliary Police Unit will help to complement and enhance the present security in line with the Resort efforts in making

KOTA KINABALU: Seramai 25 orang anak yatim daripada Rumah Anak Yatim Nur Taqwa Kota Belud diraikan sempena Majlis Berbuka Puasa Sutera Harbour Resort, dekat sini, hari ini.

Terdiri daripada 17 remaja serta kanak-kanak lelaki dan lapan penghuni perempuan berusia antara empat hingga 16 tahun, setiap anak yatim berkenaan menerima duit raya sumbangan Sutera Harbour Resort serta Yayasan Nur Jauhar selain baju raya daripada pusat penginapan terkenal terbabit.

Pemberian duit bagi pelajar perempuan disempurnakan oleh isteri Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, Toh Puan Norlidah RM Jasni manakala penyerahan sumbangan kepada pelajar lelaki diberikan oleh Menteri Pelajaran dan Inovasi Sabah, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob.

Pengarah Latihan dan Sumber Manusia Sutera Harbour Resort, Md Al’Freedo Md Yahya berkata majlis berbuka puasa itu adalah adalah salah satu daripada projek tanggungjawab sosial korporat (CSR) yang dilaksanakan saban tahun menjelang kedatangan bulan Ramadan.

“Acara seumpama itu dilihat mampu memberikan sedikit kegembiraan kepada anak yatim dan asnaf sekaligus membantu menyediakan persiapan raya bagi golongan terbabit.

“Kita berharap majlis seperti ini akan dapat diterus untuk tahun hadapan agar dapat membantu lebih banyak individu memerlukan di negeri ini,” katanya ketika berucap pada majlis berbuka puasa berkenaan.

Antara pengisian lain majlis itu termasuklah persembahan nasyid daripada kumpulan Muslih dan solat sunat Tarawih.
