Seminar: “Green Innovations and the Sustainable Food Industry”
Friday 19th October 2012
Sabah Food, Hospitality and Tourism Exhibition 2012

Good food and good housing are becoming more and more expensive. When people have to spend a lot more money on housing, they spend less on good food. In the long run, we spend a lot more money than we need to because these expenditures do not bring good health. How do we make healthy food plentiful for Sabah that currently imports more than 70% of its rice? How do we build dignified, high quality affordable housing?

At the Sabah Food, Hospitality and Tourism Exhibition 2012, there will be a Seminar on “Green Innovations and the Sustainable Food Industry” on Friday 19th October, 12:00 Noon (registration), and program from 01:00 PM–5:00 PM, at the Sabah Trade Center Mini Theatre.

The two international speakers, Prof. Victor Lee will deliver the topic: “Producing Healthy Crops for Tomorrow” and Mr. Kaine Telford will demonstrate with material samples, “Green Buildings from Agriculture Waste Biomass.” When he saw evidence of this green technological convergence, PM Najib Tun Razak, said, “This is the technology I’ve been waiting for! A real gamechanger. Congratulations.” (Pekan, Pahang, 15 January 2012.)

There will also be a film screening of FOODMATTERS®, a hard-hitting, fast paced look at our current state of health. Despite the billions of dollars of funding and research into new socalled cures we continue to suffer from a rash of chronic ills and everyday maladies. The groundbreaking documentary sets about uncovering the trillion dollar worldwide “Sickness Industry” and exposes a growing body of scientific evidence proving that nutritional therapy can be more effective, more economical, less harmful and less invasive than most conventional medical treatments. This documentary features interviews with leading medical experts from around the world who discuss natural approaches to preventing and reversing Cancer, Obesity, Heart Disease, Depression, Mental Illness and many other chronic conditions. Find out what works, what doesn’t and what’s killing you. Becoming informed about the choices you have for you and your family’s health could save your life.

These topics are becoming all the more relevant for Sabah’s growing and competitive Food, Hospitality and Tourism Industries.
