This year’s auditions will see the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) team travelling across Malaysia to five states, including East Malaysia to find potential beauties who have what it takes to bring home the crown. Grooming and training will begin from the point of selection to the finale, with the selection process focused on the contestant’s dedication and ability to adapt and improve throughout the process. Judges for the auditions will include MUMO National Director, Elaine Daly, actress cum former beauty queen Debbie Goh and actor-producer-director Hans Isaac.

“Unlike previous years, the vision for MUMO moving forward is to create a social media driven pageant that empowers women in Malaysia to aspire to our core values of being hip, urban, relevant and real,” said Elaine Daly, who has taken over the reins from Carey Ng.

She enthused, “We want Malaysian girls who believe that she has what it takes and possess the confidence to impress us at the audition. It doesn't matter if she doesn’t speak perfect English. As Malaysians, we all speak different dialects and languages. But what’s important is that the candidate must be comfortable and confident.”
