Competition Format:
Open Audition
Contestants have to perform their songs without music, save and except for accompaniment of one (1) live musical instrument. Contestants must choose at least 2 songs for performance (in a choice of English, Bahasa Malaysia or any Chinese dialect). Contestants may sing the same song as another Contestant. No song is allowed to be sung twice by the same Contestant during the whole competition. The time limit for each Contestant is within 7 minutes.
Contestants must choose at least 2 songs for performance (Round 1 & Round 2), in a choice of English, Bahasa Malaysia or any Chinese dialect. Contestants have to prepare their own “minus one CD”. Contestants may sing the same song as another Contestant but no song is allowed to be sung twice by the same Contestant. No tuning is provided during Competition.
** Minus One CD shall means music recordings on whichever instrument (or voice type) is excluded from the recording.
Carlsberg Diamond Idol Camp
Contestants who qualify for the Grand Final will participate in a 3 Days 2 Nights training camp. Activities included are team building, vocal training, dance choreography by Synergy and live band practice lead by Roger Wang.
Grand Finale
Contestants are allowed to make a personal choice of songs save and except the songs sung by him or her in the Area Final Competition. Contestants must provide their Grand Finale song list to the Organiser before 12th October 2014. All music will be performed by live band during Grand Finale. Grand finale will be held on 2nd November 2014. There will be 3 rounds, 4 Contestants will be eliminated after Round 1 & Round 2. The remaining 8 Contestants (“Top 8 Finalist”) will compete in Round 3. In round 3, Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up, 3rd Runner-up, 4th Runner-up and Most Popular Award will be announced.
