25th July 2019, Kota Kinabalu: in conjunction with PCA Annual Charity Dinner and Show, the organising Committee organised a Pre-Concert of the Tribute To Elvis Presley at the PCAKK home.
The talented Gary Andreson impersonating Elvis Presley performed a very entertaining show, reliving the excitement, energy and mgic that millions of fans enjoyed when Presley too th stage in the 195s, 1960s and early 1970s. A winner at the world official Elvis Presley enterprises competition, Andreson got Elvi's die-hard fans clapping, dancing and singing along.
'The goal of having a Pre-concert at the PCAKK Home is to give patients entertainment and hopefully it could bring them joy.' enthused Puan Rokiah Yaacob, President of PCAKK.
The day Care facilites which currently runs on every Thursday at "Rumah PCA" provided patients with massage, chat, home cooked food and drinks, game, crats and entertainment, portrait painting, relaxing exercises and counselling.
Datuk Margaret Lim the Organising Chairperson of the event said with the proceeds from the charity concert & Raffles tickes sales, we hope to raise RM600,00 for the association to help run the Home Programme.
The association's Annual Charity Dinner and Show aspire for generous support in funding from charitable donors to ensure the smooth running of their services to the community. The state medical department is also assisting them with domiciliary Palliative Care program reaching out to those in the rural areas at no cost. PCAKK's coverage is 45km radius of Hospital Queen Elizabeth. Since 1998, PCAKK has looked after more than 3,500 patients and their families. The Home care programme is now headed by a full time Medical Officer, with 5 full time nurses, one driver and and administrative secretary.
Pn.Rokiah further elaborate 'We hope that more people will understand our effort to help ease the pain and suffering of many cancer patients and patients who are afflicted with incurable illnesses.
PCAKK was founded in the early 90s by the late Datuk Dr.Ranjit Omen Mathew which has since helped relieve the suffering and provided comfort for many patients of all ages.
