Sharing the Blessings of Ramadan: Horizon Hotel Embraces Community with Bayu Raudhah Sabah

Ramadan in Kota Kinabalu carries a quiet poetry. As the sun softens and lanterns begin to glow, tables are not merely set with dishes, but with intention, compassion, and togetherness.

On 21 February 2026, Horizon Hotel Kota Kinabalu hosted a meaningful Berbuka Puasa gathering at Horizon Hall, bringing together the students and teachers of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Bayu Raudhah Sabah in a heartfelt Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

This was more than an iftar. It was a celebration of shared humanity.

An Evening of Warmth and Giving

Welcomed by the hotel’s General Manager, Madam Stella Chong, the evening gathered 35 invited guests including 25 students aged between 15 and 17, teachers, and NGO committee members.

The atmosphere was gentle yet celebratory. As the call to Maghrib approached, conversations softened into gratitude. Smiles travelled across the room like quiet lantern light.

In a touching gesture, green Raya packets were presented to the students, followed by a cheque contribution handed to the Chairman of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Bayu Raudhah Sabah, Tuan Mohd Ali Osman. The contribution supports the organisation’s ongoing welfare efforts, reinforcing Horizon Hotel’s commitment to community impact beyond hospitality.

“Ramadan is a time to share smiles and blessings,” shared Madam Stella Chong. And that sentiment echoed throughout the hall.

After breaking fast together, guests proceeded for Maghrib prayers at the Likas and Luyang rooms, completing an evening woven with meaning.

Introducing “Selera Kita” Festive Evening Buffet

In conjunction with the holy month, Horizon Hotel also unveiled its “Selera Kita” Festive Evening Buffet, a culinary celebration designed to honour tradition while embracing indulgence.

From the fragrant richness of Kambing Panggang and Daging Dendeng to the smoky allure of Ayam Percik Perak and satay fresh from the grill, the buffet reads like a love letter to Malaysian Ramadan classics.

Seafood selections, Coffee Lamb, Gado Gado, and an extended Dim Sum service from 8.30PM to 10.30PM add layers of variety to the experience.

The buffet is priced at:
RM105 nett per adult
RM70 nett per senior citizen
RM55 nett per child

Early bird guests enjoy a special rate of RM98 nett until 28 February 2026.

Prayer halls are conveniently available throughout the promotion period, and corporate bookings are warmly welcomed.

FAVSTYLE Perspective

Ramadan hospitality is not measured by abundance alone. It is measured by intention.

Horizon Hotel demonstrates that luxury and compassion can sit at the same table. In a season where reflection meets generosity, this initiative reminds us that true elegance lies in giving back.

Kebersamaan Ramadan LMKK 19 February 2026 | First Day of Berbuka Puasa

Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu

The first sunset of Ramadan painted Kota Kinabalu in soft amber tones as “Kebersamaan Ramadan LMKK” unfolded beautifully at Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu. It was more than a media gathering. It was an evening woven with warmth, nostalgia, and the comforting rhythm of shared meals.

Prayer before the meal

Representing FAVSTYLE Magazine, Editor-in-Chief Alfred Allen Ginsos attended alongside Omar Willie of MY KKCityBelinda Faith of Hotel Guide Dot Com, and Chinese influencer Wilson Tsen of SweetPotatoNews. Together with invited guests and the LMKK management team, the evening reflected the true essence of Ramadan, unity, gratitude, and togetherness.

The ambiance carried an unmistakable ala-kampung charm. Traditional décor elements set the mood, while the impressive large cooking kuali stood proudly as the heart of the buffet line, evoking the soul of classic masakan Melayu. The setting felt intimate yet celebratory, like returning to a festive hometown gathering.

The culinary spread was both generous and refined. Guests happily returned for second and even third rounds. The special ice kacang offered a refreshing sweetness to balance the savory dishes. The smoky satay, tender and perfectly glazed, was a consistent crowd favorite. Meanwhile, the rich and creamy masakan lemak earned enthusiastic praise for its authentic flavor and comforting depth.

One of the most delightful highlights was the nostalgic stall, “Kedai Runcit Uncle Suresh.” Designed like a neighborhood sundry shop from the 80s and 90s, it stirred fond childhood memories. The simple joy of playing “tikam-tikam,” once costing only RM0.20, sparked laughter and storytelling among guests. It was a thoughtful touch that transformed the buffet into a journey through time.

Special appreciation goes to General Manager Suresh, whose sporting and gracious presence added a lively spirit to the evening. Kudos as well to the dedicated kitchen team and chefs of LMKK. They delivered not only an impressive variety of dishes but ensured that quality remained the utmost priority throughout the night.

“Kebersamaan” means togetherness, and on this meaningful first evening of Ramadan, it was felt in every shared plate, every smile exchanged, and every heartfelt conversation across the table.

A beautiful beginning to the holy month.
