For 6 days, gourmands and wine lovers will experience a culinary adventure of taste and flavors from the kitchen of the three fine dining restaurants in Sutera Harbour Resort. The featured restaurants are Ferdinand's at The Magellan Sutera Resort, Silk Garden at The Pacific Sutera Hotel and Spice Island and Sutera Harbour Marina & Country club.
This year, 3 chefs are especially flown in from outside of Sabah to tantalize your palates with their impressive spread of ate dujour. They are Chef Rene Mathieu, a Michelin Star Chef from Belgium best known for his French and Italian gourmet-styled cooking stationed at Ferdinand's, multi award-winner celebrity Chef Austen Ong from Singapore at Silk Garden as well as Chef Ricky Ng from West Malaysia who is a Nyonya cuisine expert and author of 14 successful cookbooks who will be cooking at Spice Island.
Continuing with the festival's "it's Not Just Culinary, It's A Cultural Experience" tagline where each featured outlet presents an enriching cultural journey through their menus. The highlight of the week will be their themed Host Nights. Ferdinand's theme of an elaborate romantic " Night at The Vineyard' and the special degustation menu by a Michelin Star Chef Rene Mathieu on May 9, promises an unforgettable night. Discover the "Taste of Nyonya' or the Peranakan legacy at Spice Island on May 7, with the spectacular spread of Nyonya flavours, prepared by Masterchef Ricky Ng. While Silk Garden presents a charming "Little Chinatown" experience on May 8, with Singaporean celebrity Chef Austen Ong and his signature Chinese dishes.
This burst of flavours will continue throughout the festival period with exclusive menus at special prices. Apart from the dinners, specially designed cooking classes will also be conducted by the three talented chefs. Learn from these Master Chefs during the cooking class; with Chef Rene Mathieu on May 8, Chef Austen Ong on May 9 and Chef Ricky Ng on May 10.
To end the festive week. and evening of wine sampling called Sunset Wines by Winecellars will be held at the Marina Boardwalk on May 11. The evening's theme will be "Drink for Charity" as the proceed from the entrance fee will be donated to a selected beneficiary. Paying guest get to taste over 400 types of wines while savouring canapes and luxuriate in a breathtaking view of the sunset across the South China Sea.

The Managing Director of Winecellars who is also the co-founder of the Gourmet Fest, Meng Tan and the General Manager of The Pacific Sutera Hotel Ms Sigrid Stelling welcomed the guest and shared the main aim of the event, which is to promote Kota Kinabalu as a hub for foodies. They also hope to change the local's perception of fine dining so that many more would appreciate and enjoy good food, impeccable service in a lovely atmosphere.
