KOTA KINABALU: The 19th Sutera Harbour 7K Charity Run which was held on 27 July 2019 had collected RM110, 519.54 with each beneficiary, Sabah Thalassaemia Society and Special Olympics Sabah, receiving a total of RM55, 259.77 each.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sutera Harbour Resort, Gerard Tan presented the cheques to beneficiaries at the 7K Charity Run cheque presentation event at Sutera Harbour Marina & Country Club yesterday.
He handed over the cheque to Julie Gindamin representing the Sabah Thalassaemia Society and to Taren Sunil Manoharan vice chairman of Special Olympics Sabah.
Tan in his speech, expressed his gratitude to more than 7,000 supporters of the 7K Charity Run, whose continuous support has made the Charity Run the biggest charity event in Kota Kinabalu.
He also thanked the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kota Kinabalu City Hall, Federal Youth and Sports Department Sabah, Sports Commissioner, The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Kota Kinabalu as well as KK City Traffic, Music Rights Malaysia and volunteers for their support.
He also expressed his appreciation to all the sponsors; SPORTS TOTO, Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu, Sounds Tech Production as the Contributing Sponsors, Ultron as the Official Apparel, 100Plus and MOMA Water as the Official Drinks, Astro Radio Sabah as the Official Radio Station.
He also thanked schools, private parties, members of the media, as well as the public for their continuous support through their donations as well as participation in the SH7K2019 Charity Run.
According to Tan, the 20th Sutera Harbour 7K Charity Run will be announced to the public once they have finalised the date. He hoped that the community especially those who are living around Kota Kinabalu will continue to support this charitable event.
Also present to witness the presentation were Ngo York Kong Special Olympics Sabah Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship and Rick Blackie, General Manager of Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club.
