Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu Sabah as the main organiser, organised PHKS Blood Donation Drive 2018 jointly with JCI Tanjung Aru and QEH Blood Bank recently at Suria Sabah. The blood donation drive is a community service aimed especially to those patients in need of blood. Apart from this blood donation drive, we created public’s awareness on the needs of kidney patients and on our up-coming annual PHKS’s Charity Bazaar on 28 October 2018 at Likas Sport Complex Badminton Hall.
The Organising Chairman - Simon Tan, said the blood donation drive was a great success with 96 donors donating their blood. “We received good and encouraging responses from the public and we are extremely pleased to raise the awareness of this drive to facilitate QEH Blood Bank. This achievement was made possible by JCI Tanjung Aru’s volunteers who have been supporting Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu, Sabah’s on several events for the past five years. I would also like to thank Suria Sabah for hosting the event space for us to organise this event, and volunteers from QEH Blood Bank,”said Simon Tan.
Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu, Sabah is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation (NGO) whose mission and objectives are to continue providing dialysis treatment with a minimum treatment fee and to ensure that it is accessible to all needy kidney patients who need frequent dialysis treatment. The center was formed and registered on 26 August 2004 under the Society Acts 1966 and officially launched on 14 November 2005. PHKS has also registered as a member of the National Renal Registry
(Malaysia Society of Nephrology).
