DANCE FOR PINKTOBER’S WITH HYATT’S BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

KOTA KINABALU (28 OCTOBER 2013)- Some 80 ladies of all walks of life came together Sunday morning for a fun day of fitness and spreading the awareness for Breast Cancer.Hyatt Regency Kinabalu hosted the all-pink event as part of their PINKTOBER campaign for the month.

Members of the public were invited to join this free Zumba session aimed at getting ladies from the city to be aware of the disease and take pride of their bodies while supporting breast cancer research and awareness among the community.

Guest were encouraged to wear pink, the colour associated with the cause, and dance away the morning for an hour with heart pumping, high-energy, easy to follow choreography set to funky rhythms by certified Zumba instructors ZIN Yoshie Ito, Yumiko Ueno and Yumiko Katakura.Healthy refreshments were also provided after the event.

Members of the public actively participated in the 1-hour Zumba session with heart pumping and high-energy dance at Kimanis Ballroom, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu.


"Were are thrilled to be able to host the community for this worthwhile cause in support of breast cancer awareness," said Hyatt Regency Kinabalu's general manager Arifin Darmawan.

"Studies show regular exercise can help reduce the risk of breast cancer, and we are always trying to promote a healthy lifestyle here at Hyatt. The group exercise this weekend help make fitness fun,motivating and rewarding,"he said.

The free Zumba session is among several initiatives taken by the five-star establishment to acknowledge breast cancer awareness this month. The hotel also organized a free breast cancer talk  for its staff, a blood donation drive, pink flowers in its restaurants and a visit to the women's oncology and chemotherapy ward at the Likas Hospital.

Hyatt Regency has always been a keen supporter of the fight against breast cancer, having been involved in several joint collaborations with the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Association for some time now.
