Wellness Journey returns for its second year

Kota Kinabalu, 23 July 2012 – It's all too simple to forget about one's health in this hectic workaday world. Kota Kinabalu may well be a laid back town filled with various relaxing diversions, but the daily wear and tear of work, traffic and periods of stress can still take their toll on the average person. It is ultimately still essential to safeguard personal health, wellness and happiness above all else.

This is the entire basis of Wellness Journey 2012 (WJ), an exhibition that intends to bring the very best of health and wellness to Kota Kinabalu. Jointly organised by Maxx Media Sdn. Bhd. and the Sabah Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Association (SWEPA), the exhibition is slated to run on 24 and 25 November 2012 at the Sabah Trade Centre in Likas.

The second edition of this event intends to build on the features introduced during its debut in 2011, which included an Exhibition Gallery, a Wellness Conference and a series of Enriching Workshops. SWEPA itself is an organisation of businesswomen and female executives who acknowledge the importance of keeping fit and healthy as well as the necessity of minimising stress, concepts which have led the association to co-organise the Wellness Journey for a second year running.

The Exhibition Gallery will feature several participating vendors and exhibitors who specialise in offering products and services relevant to the beauty and health industries. Arranged into zones depending on their products, visitors will be able to browse booths showcasing items in the Spa, Health, Beauty, and Academy categories. The four zones will offer a wide variety of products and services, including organic food, health supplements, fitness classes, cosmetics, spa treatments, and much more.

A unique feature of the gallery is its structure and the design the exhibition hall itself, which ensures that visitors will only be able to move in a single direction from the entrance all the way to the exit. This one-way flow ensures that guests will be able to experience basically everything that the exhibition offers. This path also literally reflects the event's name, as every visitor to the exhibition will be going on their own personal wellness journey.

A new highlight for WJ's second edition is the Wellness Garden, a central gathering area that will allow visitors to rest and recuperate. Designed to look like a lush, verdant garden, it will also serve as a small stage area, with attractions such as a regular Lucky Draw as well as a Buy and Win contest, which rewards visitors who make purchases of various products and services at the exhibition. The Wellness Garden will also be a venue for a number of special events, designed to give guests a glimpse into the world of health and wellness through a handful of exhilarating activities.

This year's WJ sees the return of the Wellness Conference, a full-day forum centred on presenting information and talks delivered by a number of prominent players in the beauty, health and wellness industries. For RM400, visitors will be exposed to two invigorating days of unique learning experiences. Nourishing refreshments will also be served throughout the conference, which will be able to accommodate up to 400 participants.

Guests who wish to participate in a smaller, but no less interesting version of the Wellness Conference may consider joining the event's various Enriching Workshops. Also conducted by leading experts in the field, these free workshops will teach attendees the ins and outs of different wellness disciplines and activities, providing a hands-on learning experience which ensures that guests will leave equipped with new and innovative ways to relax and rejuvenate in the comfort of their own homes.

As the biggest expo in the history of East Malaysia that is dedicated wholly to the concept of wellness, WJ aims to elevate public understanding towards the concept of wellness by showcasing what the industry is all about. Wellness Journey is also a one-stop centre for the public to gain knowledge about spas, beauty and medicine, and to conveniently purchase products and services directly from the exhibitors.

The Wellness Journey is a project of Maxx Media Sdn. Bhd. and will run on 24 and 25 November 2012 at the Sabah Trade Centre, Likas from 11am to 8pm. For further information, visit www.WellnessJourney.com.my or www.facebook.com/WellnessJourney, or call 088-719787.
