Blood Donation Drive by Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu, Sabah

a collaboration with JCI Tg Aru, and QEH Blood Bank

Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu Sabah as the main organiser, organised PHKS Blood Donation Drive 2018 jointly with JCI Tanjung Aru and QEH Blood Bank recently at Suria Sabah. The blood donation drive is a community service aimed especially to those patients in need of blood. Apart from this blood donation drive, we created public’s awareness on the needs of kidney patients and on our up-coming annual PHKS’s Charity Bazaar on 28 October 2018 at Likas Sport Complex Badminton Hall. 

The Organising Chairman - Simon Tan, said the blood donation drive was a great success with 96 donors donating their blood. “We received good and encouraging responses from the public and we are extremely pleased to raise the awareness of this drive to facilitate QEH Blood Bank. This achievement was made possible by JCI Tanjung Aru’s volunteers who have been supporting Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu, Sabah’s on several events for the past five years. I would also like to thank Suria Sabah for hosting the event space for us to organise this event, and volunteers from QEH Blood Bank,”said Simon Tan.

Persatuan Hemodialisis Kinabalu, Sabah is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation (NGO) whose mission and objectives are to continue providing dialysis treatment with a minimum treatment fee and to ensure that it is accessible to all needy kidney patients who need frequent dialysis treatment. The center was formed and registered on 26 August 2004 under the Society Acts 1966 and officially launched on 14 November 2005. PHKS has also registered as a member of the National Renal Registry 

(Malaysia Society of Nephrology).

Wednesday, 15th August 2018 - Known for its range of exquisitely crafted Halal mooncakes, Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu is proud to once again unveil its much anticipated tapestry of unique flavours for this year's Mid-Autumn Festival. A total of 8 mooncakes andd 3 mini crystal mooncakes were officially launched by the hotel's General Manager - Mr Hafizan Wong at the hotel's Lobby Lounge. 

Besides bring back the popular Musang King Durian Paste Mooncake, Mooncake aficionados will be more than delighted to enjoy 2 NEW flavours this year - Pumpkin & Yam available in both mooncakes and crystal mooncakes **Mini Crystal Durian Mooncakes, **Mini Crystal Pumpkin Paste & **Mini Crystal Yam Paste - all specially prepared by Dynasty Restaurant's team of Master Chefs led by Dim Sum Chef - Arthur Chew Foo Chung.

"This and the whole range of Promenade's mooncakes are halal, with less sugar and minimum preservatives. Therefore, it's best refrigerated. Besides selling our mooncakes here in Kota Kinabalu, we will also be making them available at Promenade Hotel Tawau and Promenadde Hotel Bintulu." - said Mr Hafizan Wong.

The launch was witnessed by Senior Citizens from the Senior Day Care Centre of Kota Kinabalu's widows welfare association / (SDCC - KKWWA) and friends from the media fraternity followed by a sumptuous lunch and mooncake tasting. "We've specially invited aunties from SDCC-KKWWA whom we believe will appreciate Chinese Festive Gathering such as our Mooncake tasting today. All guests in attendance were each given a miniature box of mooncakes in this year's aesthetic Mooncake box available in orange and red.

Promenade's Mooncakes will be on sale until the actual Mooncake Festival Day (or while stocks last) on Monday, 24th September 2018 from 10am - 8pm at the Mooncake Sales Counter in the Hotel Lobby and from 8pm - 10pm at Dynasty Restaurant (Ground Floor). Tilapia Set Menu available in two packages:

Set A (8-10pax) RM338+ include four treasure seafood think soup, Hong Kong style steamed tilapia, sesame fragrant chicken, lamb ribs in BBQ sauce, salted egg bean curd with fried potato flakes, broccoli with bailing mushroom and lychee bean curd ( served with white rice and Chinese tea)
